Savonn Wyland
Thoughtful practices for real life.
Yoga, mindful movement, retreats, and consulting —
shaped by experience and grounded in attention and care.
My work draws on a background in business and many years of owning and operating yoga studios, alongside decades of teaching, leading retreats, and working closely with people during periods of change.
Over time, I’ve come to value practices that are steady, adaptable, and grounded in real life — practices that support awareness, resilience, and genuine care, both on and off the mat.
I work with individuals, groups, and organizations through yoga, mindful movement, retreats, and consulting. What runs through all of it is the same: thoughtful guidance, close attention, and a deep respect for the complexity of people’s lives and work.
Weekly Classes & Privates
I teach weekly public classes at Sellwood Yoga, the Portland, Oregon studio that I co-founded and own. These classes are designed to support overall well-being, strength, balance, mobility, and awareness — built to be sustainable and meaningful over time. You can register for classes here
I also work privately with individuals and small groups, offering sessions tailored to specific needs, goals, or moments of transition. Private work can be a good fit for injury recovery, life changes, or simply a more personalized and attentive approach to practice. If you’re curious, get in touch and we can talk through what might work best for you.
Retreats
I design and lead immersive retreat experiences through Align Retreats — the travel-focused side of my work, created to bring together yoga, mindful movement, exploration, and time in nature in inspiring locations around the world.
Each retreat is shaped by place, season, and purpose, offering space for reflection, discovery, and meaningful connection — with the locations we visit and with yourself.

Workshops & Special Offerings
Throughout the year, I offer workshops, practice intensives, and longer-form programs designed to support learning, reflection, and integration.
My current focus is on menopause education and support through Pause and Pause Plus — integrative programs that weave together movement, education, and community for women navigating perimenopause, menopause, and beyond.
While formal yoga teacher training programs are currently on hold, I’m available for mentorship and individualized support for teachers and practitioners seeking guidance, refinement, or deeper inquiry — whether around developing a yoga-based business, broadening their offerings, or navigating a meaningful period of change.
I also continue to offer select signature workshops throughout the year, including Solstice and Equinox Yoga Celebrations, Enhance Your Practice, Advance Your Practice, and other offerings developed over many years of teaching.
Questions about retreats, programs, classes, or consulting are welcome.
Share a bit about what you’re curious about, and I’ll be in touch.
Consulting
I offer consulting and advisory support to individuals, solopreneurs, and health and wellness businesses and organizations — accompanying work as it takes shape, evolves, and changes over time.
My approach draws on a background in business, yoga studio ownership, and decades of teaching and program development. I partner with clients as a thoughtful collaborator, helping clarify direction, shape key offerings and business practices, and develop work that is sustainable, values-aligned, and responsive to real life.
My consulting work often focuses on:
- Shaping and launching new programs, offerings, or retreat concepts
- Supporting studio owners and wellness instructors through early stages, growth, and periods of change
- Bringing clarity and structure to workflows, systems, and ways of working
- Mentorship for teachers looking to broaden their offerings, and support during times of transition or burnout
Testimonials
“The Solstice live stream class came at the perfect time. I hadn’t realized until after I took the class how long I had been disconnected from peace. Savonn’s flow finally gave me the ability to reconnect and ground with peace again. The altar suggestions, music playlist, and other materials she sent beforehand allowed me to curate my space and go even deeper in such a special way. It was so rejuvenating and such an amazing way to enter into the new season.”
“Savonn’s vinyasa classes are always a joy to experience. These classes are essential self-care for me. I remember dearly a series of classes where she passionately focused on connecting with breathwork and heart opening through shapes, movement, and verbal guidance. Joining these classes via live stream brought me amazing physical and emotional release during a difficult and stressful time. I appreciate that Savonn’s spiritual lens in vinyasa practice is often softer and more subtle, yet the message and outcome is even more powerful.”
“I don’t really know how to describe how special of a teacher Savonn is. It’s in her manner, her technique, her aura, her just being her. I’ll take anything Savonn teaches! There is a thoughtfulness to the way she designs and leads her classes, and everything is done with a purpose. Each class is filled with an ‘Aha!’ moment for me, where I’m not just moving my body, but learning to use it more deeply and gain a deeper understanding of yoga and how it affects me.”
